INCREASED SALES AND IE VENUE. By TelegAsPb—Press Association WELLINGTON, Sept. 18. The rock oyster season, which closed a few days ago. showed a marked improvement from the point of view of both output and stales over last season. In 1932, 4414 sacks were dealt with by the Marine Department at Auckland, and revenue obtained from their sale was £5046 17/8. For the season just closed. 4717 sacks tvere placed on the market and brought- in a revenue of £5336/4/11. “Seeing that oysters are more or less a luxury nowadays,” remarked the Minister of Marine, trte Hon. J. G. Cobbe, to-day, “the demand for them and the much needed extra revenue they brought in to the State coffers is gratifying.”
