Gordon Richards, undeterred by Friday’s crash, reached London and rode eight horses in exercise and then rode the winner at Alexandra Park in the afternoon, bringing his season’s total to 185. He is hopeful of riding more than 62 winners in the remaining six weeks of the flat racing season, thus breaking the 52-year-old record of Fred Archer.
