THREE PERSONS HURT
CAR OVERTURNS INTO DITCH. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. August 27. Minor injuries were received by three passengers when Dr. Thacker's motor car, driven by a chaffeur, swerved to avoid a cyclist riding on the road near Kaituna this morning and overturned into a ditch filled with water. Dr. Thacker received scratches and also suffered from shock, but was able to attend to another passenger, Mrs Bean, wife of Canon Bean, who received head injuries, and Mrs Thr/.’ker. who had a wrist broken. Mrs Bean was taken by the ambulance to the Christchurch public hospital, and after being treated under an anaesthetic was removed to her home.
