FASHION FEATURES.

These are two definite evening dress lengths—and this is true of all the new fashions—the long kind that trail on the floor for a few inches, and the very newest length which is just about the ankle.

The waistline is being indicated either by a blatant belt or a series of tucks and godets that mark -it unmistakably. Belts are very important for the coming season, and are seen in bright colours of pastel shades to tone With the dress.

Paris continues to pad her tailorsuit shoulders like a man's. And she still adds twists round the decoiletage and the armholes of her crepe dress. Dressmakers are featuring printed linen frocks in their coming wardrobes for summer. Linen, the favoured slimmer fabric, now adds colour to its other charms, and finds itself universally popular. Bandeaux relicts of a pre-war past are staging a come-back; will probably be swooped upon by the young things, too. You'll see them in every imaginable colour and material, and usually worn to match the dance frock. Scarves are being used instead of collars. Some of the new coats arc made without collars. Short shoulder

capes adorn some of the new long coat models.

Detachable sleeves on dresses and coats of chine de lainc or crepe are a delightful new feature. Then there are the removable glove sleeves, which are tight to the elbow, with cuffs covering the joining.
