PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY *■ GIVEN that it is the intention of the Elephant Hill River Board at a meeting to be held on Saturday, 9th day of September, 1933* at Waimate, at the County Council Chambers for the purpose of “The River Boards Act. 1908.” and in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon the said Board in and by virtue of Section 87, Sub-section 1 of "The River Boards Act, 1908,” and Section 9 of “The River Boards Act, 1913.” and of any amendments of the said Act, and of any and every power in this behalf, it enabling to levy a rate on all lands within the Elephant Hill River District except lands exempted from rates in “The River Boards Act, 1908,” or any Amendments thereto on a graduated scale according to the Classification List made by the said Board then in force of the Unimproved Rateable property within the District as follows, that is to say, on the Unimproved Rateable Value of all lands referred to in the said Classification List and in the Classes hereafter mentioned to the following scale: — 1 — On the Unimproved Rateable Value of all lands in Class “A” in Section 9 of ‘The River Boards Act, 1913” a rate of lid in the pound. 2 on the Unimproved Rateable Value of all Second Class lands meaning lands in Class “B” in Section 9 of “The River Boards Act,, 1913” a rate of Id in the pound. The said rates to be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April. 1933, and ending on the 31st day of March. 1934. and to be payable in one sum on the 14th day of September, 1933, at the office of the Waimate County Council, Queen Street, Waimate.
