German Cruiser to Visit Samoa.—The German cruiser, Karlsruhe, which is to visit Apia, Western Samoa, in February next, in the course of a world tour. The Karlsruhe, completed in 1929 at an estimated cost of £2,100,000, has a displacement of 6000 tons and a speed of 32 knots. Her armament consists of nine 5.9in. guns, four 3.4in. anti-aircraft guns, and four 19.7in. torpedo tubes. The Karlsruhe, a sister ship to the Konigsberg and the Koln, carries a crew of 500.
