BASKETBALL. The following teams will represent the Old Girls’ Basketball Club to-mor-row afternoon:— Senior B, v. Teniuka Young Women at Geraldine, at 3 p.m. (referee, Miss M. Bay):—M. Barrett, J. Vincent, M. Vincent, M. Healy, M. Gaby, J. Vincent, T. Evans, c. Davies, K. McKay. Juniors v. Milford at Geraldine, at 2.15 p.m. (referee, Miss M. Kerr):—E. Hughes, E. Waters, D. Butcher, N. Johnson, L. Henry, K. Collins, M. Cochrane, P. Murray, and B. Loach. WAIHI REBEKAH LODGE. Sister D, Tindall, Noble Grand, presided over a fair attendance at the meeting of the Waihi Rebekah Lodge on Monday evening. D.D.G.M. Bro. Young and G.L.R. Bro Harris paid an official visit to the Lodge, and were welcomed by the Noble Grand. Sister Tindall welcomed the Brothers and a Sister from Waitea Lodge. Bro. Harris intimated that any remits to the Grand Lodge should now be forwarded. Sister Tindall announced that at the next meeting, the first nomination of officers would take place. After the closing of the Lodge, supper was served. PERSONAL. Bishop West-Watson and Mrs WestWatson, are the guests of Mrs J. Sinclair Thomson, Woodbury Road. The Rev. Canon Staples Hamilton and Mrs Hamilton, Mrs H. Moore and Miss Fish (Christchurch), are the guests of Miss Tripp, Orari Gorge . The Rev. G. B. Nanson and Mrs Nanson (Cust), are staying with Mrs A. Templer, Raukapuka. The Rev. E. Blakiston and Mrs Blakiston, and Mr and Mrs F. Fish (Christchurch), are the guests of Mrs J. R. Orford, “The Downs.” The Misses Preston (Christchurch) are the guests of Mrs P. W. Hislop, Cox Street. Miss M. Hamilton (Christchurch), is the guest of Miss A. Hughes, Waihi Terrace. Mrs F. Bums (Timaru), is staying at the Crown Hotel. Mr and Mrs W. S. Irvine, who were the guests of Mrs Hewson, High Street, have returned to Christchurch. Mr E. Cholerton, proprietor of John R. Procter's, the Premier Opticians, Christchurch, will be visiting Geraldine on Wednesday, August 30th, and may be consulted on all defects of eyesight, at the Crown Hotel on that date.
