MEAT TRADE WITH BRITAIN
REDUCTION OF BEEF. IMPORTS ARRANGEMENT TO BETTER PRICES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, August 13. The Ministry of Agriculture has issued a statement detailing the arrangements made to reduce meat imports for the remainder of the year, the chilled beef figures being reduced by 10 to 15 per cent, below the Ottawa quantities, frozen beef 20 per cent, for the current quarter, and 25 per cent, next quarter. New Zealand is sending no frozen beef during the last quarter of the year, and Australia has reduced the quantity compared with 1932. It is believed that arrangements will be made to improve the beef prices, and also that there are fair prospects of improving mutton and lamb prices, owing to reductions of Australian and New Zealand imports.
