WEDDING

SOMERVILLE—BECK. The wedding was solemnised on Wednesday, August 9, at Chalmers Church, Timaru, of Margaret Ferguson, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. F. Beck, Malcikihi, to John Albert Somerville, second son of Mr and Mrs G. B. Somerville, Fine Bush, Southland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Adam Begg, and Mr Fraser presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of angel skin lace and georgette, moulded to the figure and falling in graceful folds to the ground. Her veil, which formed a court train, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She also carried a bouquet of freesias. lilies, roses, white heather and maiden hair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Bessie Beck as bridesmaid and her little niece, Bessie Beattie as flower girl. The bridesmaid wore a frock of delphinium blue georgette and lace, a coronet of blue and lemon flowers encircled her head. Her bouquet comprised lemon roses and fern. The flower girl wore a dainty frock of buttercup organdi, blue sash and a coronet of blue and lemon flowers, and carried a posy of lemon roses and fern. Mr W. Somerville acted as best man. The guests were afterwards received at the Cafe Carlton by Mr and Mrs Beck and Mrs Somerville. The bride's mother wore a navy costume, navy hat and black fur, and carried a bouquet of violets and fern. The bridegroom's mother wore a black costume, black hat. black fur and carried a bouquet of violets and fern. Mr and Mrs J. A. Somerville left later by the express for the north, the bride travelling in a nigger brown costume, brown broadtail coat and brown toque relieved with tangerine. Their future home will be Pine Bush, Southland.
