GENEROUS OFFER FROM ENGLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 24. Advic. 1-r.s been rc-eived by the Olympic Association that the rest British Empire Games will be held in England from August 3 to August 11, and thrt the British Empire Games Council for England, is preparec. to give assistance up to £IOOO towards the cost of sending a New Zealand team, and is prepared to house f -e of charge the complete New Zealand team during the period of the Game and for short period training beforehand. A copy of the letter is to be sent to each : Thated Association. It will be pointed out to them that either they or the athletes " "inselves will ’"<ve to put up money, but in view of the generous assistance thi Council in England is prepared to give, it is hoped Associations will give their wholehearted - ~ operation to the proposal.
