SOME YOUTHFUL PEERS.
One of the youngest, and most active members of the House of Lords is Lord Dufferin and Ava, who is 24. Another industrious peer is Lord Munster, who is 27, and is kept busy with his duties as a whip. He is also a member of the London County Council, and president of the North Paddington Conservative Association.
Lord De La Warr, a third member of the younger generation in the House of Lords, has been Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture since 1930, and is now but 32. He has a persuasive manner which commands the deep interest of the older peers when he speaks. Then there is fair-haired Lord Iddesleigh, aged 31. He regularly attends the debates in the Upper House and speaks with weighty authority.
Travelling 20,000 miles by air, a London business man recently did a trip in 60 days at a cost of £3OO which by other modes of travel would have occupied 180 days and cost £360. He visited Palestine, Iraque, Egypt, Uganda, Kenya, Rhodesia, and South Africa.
