UNEMPLOYMENT CAMP. Six single men from Timaru, with a cook, went into an unemployment camp at Clandeboye yesterday. The camp is under the control of the Crown Lands Department by arrangement with the Unemployment Board, and the men will be engaged in draining Crown land in the district. HOCKEY. As the secretary (Mr P. E. Kyne) was absent, Mr A. R .Beck was appointed to take the minutes. The president reported that during the month land and pension cases had been dealt with successfully. The wood cut last winter was still selling well, but there had been no delivery to the Railway Department yet. Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P., wrote enclosing a cheque for £6 towards a meat fund for the unemployed, providing that that amount is subsidised by £3 from the Association. Mr C. L. It was decided to hold the annual e-union on July 20th. It was agreed to carry on the scheme of wood-cutting as work for the un■mployed.
