ILLEGAL DOCUMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 9. William Edward Allison was charged to-day with selling documents In imitation of judicial process. Detective Sergeant Revell said defendant had written to the police forwarding a plea of guilty to the court. The charge was laid under Section 20 of the Police Offences Act, which provided a maximum penalty of £2O. Defendant had a number of documents printed in Christchurch headed ‘‘Pinal Notiee of Intention to proceed in local Court for recovery of debt.” Defendant had canvassed New Zealand with these, and people had been prosecuted for sending them out. “We know nothing about this man,” said Detective Revell. “We have not had an opportunity of interviewing him apart from serving the summons.”

The Magistrate imposed a fine of £5 on the first charge, and £2 on the second charge.
