THE CHURCHES

TO-MORROW'S SERVICES. Communion will be observed at the morning service at Trinity Presbyterian Church to-morrow, and a supplementary service will be held in the evening. The preacher on both occasions will be the Rev. A. J. H. Dow. In the Salvation Army Stafford Street, in the morning at 11 Adjutant Radcliffe will speak on “The Vine and the Branches.” At 7 p.m. the subject of Captain Cobb’s address will be “The Great Question." Meetings for the voung people at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. At the Baptist Church at 11. Rev. J. Russell Grave will preach on "Love’s Lesson in Service." Hvmn studies will be rendered by the choir. In the evening at 6.30 the series on “The Superlative Excellence of Christ" will be continued, with “A Greater than Solomon." Sunday School and Bible Classes will meet at 2.30. The monthly children’s service will be held in the Congregational Church on Sunday morning. In the evening, the Rev. J. Milburn Stewart, will give an address on “The Seven Golden Candlesticks.” On Wednesday evening next, the Rev. W. Nelson Bittian. Home Secretary of the London Missionary Society, will speak in the church.

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will befdispensed at the morning service in Chalmers Church, and also at the close of the evening service. The ' usual retiring collections will be for i Home Missions. The evening address | will be the closing address of the series on “The Clash of Wo*ld Forces.” The subject will be, "Christian Nationalism can Save the World. Miss Beryl Stevens will be the soloist at the evening service. The services in St. Mary's Parish tomorrow will be as follows:. —Holy Communion at St. Mary's. 8 a.m., at St. Michael’s. 9.30 a.m. Matins will be held at St. Mary’s. Family Service at St. John's, 1 a.m.; evensong, at St. Marv’s, St. Peter’s and All Saints. 6.30. at Washdyke 2.30 p.m. To-morrow will be observed throughout Dominion Methodism as Youth Sunday, the services in the Timaru Methodist Churches being as follows: Bank Street. 11 a.m.. Mr E. C. J Foot; 6.30, Rev. J. McArthur, assisted by Bible Class members. Mr A. Symonds will sing a solo. A combined Communion service will be held at 3.45. At Woodlands Road, the Rev. H. L. Fiebig will preach at 11 a.m.. and Mr R. H. Brown at 6.30. The Rev. T. H Carr will officiate at both services at Kensington The Waimataitai Church will hold Its anniversary with the Rev. J D. McArthur on charge at 11 a.m.. and Rev. H. L. Fiebig at 6 30 p.m. All other appontments as per 'plan."
