A NOVEL DOOR-STOP.
A QUAINT FIGURE. In a windy country such as New Zealand, it Is not easy to combine fresh air and open doors with an absence of irritating bangs and slams. Here is an amusing and attractive yet inexpensive door-stop which will save such nerve-wracking noises. To make a door-stop like this you will need a bag made of strong material, half a yard of gay chintz, half a yard of ribbon, a small fancy hanky, a doll’s head, such as is used for the popular tea-cosies, and a brick. The brick goes into the bottom of the bag, which is then tightly stuffed with rags; press the doll into the bag until her feet touch the brick, and then gather the top of the bag round her waist. Dress her in skirt, ribbon bodice and hanky apron—and she’s all ready for duty.
