RELIEF PAY
A WATERSIDERS’ GRIEVANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. June 7. At the monthly “stop work” meeting, a Watersiders’ Committee was elected, and instructed to approach the Unemployment Board on the whole question of allocation of relief pay for men, particularly in the case of waterside workers.
It was stated that while the Government professes to encourage unemployed to seek work, watersiders feel that they are being penalised owing to the nature of their occupation and the irregular income, resulting.
