AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. WINTER STEEPLECHASE TO CALLAMART. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, June 7. The Auckland Racing Club’s winter meeting was concluded in fine weather. The track was soft. There was a good attendance, and the totalisator handled £31,060 for the day, compared with £29,433 on the third day last year. The total for the meeting was £111,447. against £109,288 in 1932. K. Voitre’s win in the Visitors’ Handicap on Puss Moth made his total 117 for the season, thus breaking Hector Gray’s record. The crowd gave him an ovation. Results:—r TAMAKI STEEPLECHASE, Of 225 sovs; about 21 miles. 2/2—Neil, 10.13 (Tucker) 1 1/I—Acervate, 11.1 (McDonald) .... 2 3/3—Carlaris, 9.7 (F. Thompson) .. 3 Also ran—s/4 Bicolor. 4/5 Golden Vanity. Won by a length, ten lengths between second and third. Time —smin 26sec. Carlaris set the early pace from Neil and Acervate. Neil ran to the front along the back, but Carlaris took charge again on the hill. Neil stayed on best to win nicely from Acervate. Bicolor and Golden Vanity were pulled up after baulking when well behind. ORAKEI HURDLES, Of 225 sovs; 13 miles. 3/I—Solanio, 9.13 (Burgess) 1 7/9—Catoma, 9.0 (Fergus) 2 1/3—Unoco, 10.9 (Rennie) 3 Also ran—4/4 Snow Prince, 5/7 Standfast, 2/2 Principal, 8/8 Wee Pat, 11/11 Coachman, 10/10 Domo, 5/5 Ruby Meteor, 9/6 Zane Grey. Won by a length and a half, six lengths between second and third. Time—3min 32sec.
Wee Pat, Principal and Solanio were first past the stand. Solanio ran to the front across the back, where Unoco also moved up. The order at the turn was Solanio, Unoco, Snow Prince and Catoma. Solanio stayed on to beat Catoma, who finished well to take second place from Unoco. Snow Prince was fourth. Coachman and Standfast fell. YORK HANDICAP, Of 500 sovs; 1 mile. 3/3—Seatoun, 10.0 (Green) 1 4/4 —Speedmint, 8.10 (Atkins) .. .. 2 1/2—Master Norval, 8.8 (K. Voitre) . 3 Also ran—B/11 Master Brierly, 15/18 Taneriri, 20/20 Prince Val, 13/12 Chromadyne, 16/15 King March, 6/6 Protomint, 12/9 Flying Prince, 2/1 Chief Cook, 5/5 Gibraltar, 10/13 Prolyxo, 11/7 Maori Boy, 19/19 Knight of Australia, 18/16 Grand Talk, 14/14 Valroe, 17/17 Jaeldy Karo, 9/10 Tarporley, 22/22 Gay Cockade, 7/8 Ruri, 21/21 Imamint. Won by half a length, a neck between second and third. Time—lmin 46 3-5 sec.
Chromadyne and Valroe were first put, and led Protomint, Master Norval, Knight of Australia and Speedmint across the top. Chromadyne was still in charge at the turn from Protomint, Valroe, Master Norval and Speedmint. In the run home Seatoun, who had been well back early, came on the outer to narrowly win from Speedmint, which just headed Master Norval. Chromadyne was fourth.

6/6—Kawini, 9.3 car. 9.4 (Olive) .... 3 Also ran—3/3 Billy Boy, 2/1 Copey, 5/5 Wiltshire. Won by half a length, a neck between second and third. Time —6min 24sec. Wiltshire and Kawini were first over the water jump. Going up the hill Kawini was clear of Wiltshire, the remainder being bunched. Kawini was still in the lead at the double from Make Up and Callamart. Over the hill a second time, Kawini was four lengths clear of Copey, Callamart and Make Up. Kawini and Callamart were first into the straight, where Make Up made a run from far back. Callamart won nicely from Make Up, which just beat Kawini. Billy Boy was fourth. CAMPBELL HURDLES, Of 400 sovs; 2 miles. 1/1 Paddon, 10.8 (Rennie) 1 5/s—Free Air, 9.1 (R. E. Thomson) .. 2 6/6 —Patutahi, 9.0 (Garrett) 3 Also ran—4/3 Cruachan, 2/2 Lucess, 3/4 Kinsel. Won by three lengths, twenty lengths between second and third. Time—4min 6 3-ssec. Kinsel fell at the first fence and Cruachan at the second. Paddon was first past the stand from Lucess and Patutahi Lucess took command along the back from Paddon and Patutahi. Lucess fell at the last fence, leaving Paddon clear of Free Air. Paddon withstood Free Air’s challenge to win easily. Patutahi, who was well back, was the only other to finish. VISITORS’ HANDICAP, Of 300 sovs; 6 furlongs. 1/I—Puss Moth, 8.12 (K. Voitre) .. 1 7/6—Greek Gold, 10.13 (Tinker) .. 2 8/9 —Jonathan, 8.9 (McKenzie) .. .. 3 Also ran—4/5 Lord Val, 9/8 L’Allegro, 2/2 Beacon Fire, 3/3 Miladi, 6/7 Delrain, 10/10 Welcome Lu, 5/4 Sinking Fund. Won by a length, threequarters of a length between second and third. Time —lmin 19sec. Welcome Lu made the early running from Sinking Fund and Puss Moth. Welcome Lu led Puss Moth, Sinking Fund and Delrain at the turn. Puss Moth finished strongly for a comfortable win from Greek Gold and Jonathan, who came from well back. Delrain was fourth, and Beacon Fire fifth. Allegretto finished well to just beat Valueless, who gained the advantage over Beau Irish. Kanapa was fourth, with Dark Marble and Golden Sceptre next.
WAUMATE HUNT CLUB.
A special meeting of the Waimate Hunt Club was held last night to reconsider the question of holding a steeplechase meeting this year. The date suggested by those who favoured a meeting being held, was July 20th, two days before the South Canterbury Hunt meeting. Advice had been received that the South Canterbury Club had no objection to the proposed change from July Bth to 20th. Mr Medlicott stated that he had received promises amounting to £52 to safeguard the Club against possible loss. It was decided, on the motion of Mr H. J. Harper, that in the event of a guarantee of £6O being in the hands of the secretary by June 17th, a meeting should be held, with a programme of
