The subject was again discussed by the Committee to-day. It was decided that every endeavour should be made to hold a meeting in aid of the Citizens’ Relief Fund, and it is hoped that arrangements can be made for the fixture to take place on Saturday, August 26. Australian Entries. The following nominations were made with the Canterbury Jockey Club to-day for the spring handicaps in Melbourne: — Melbourne Cup. Caulfield Cup and Williamstown Cup.—Fast Passage and Rebel Song. Cantala Stakes and Toorak Handicap—Cricket Bat and Rebel Song. A large number of yearling nominations were made for Australian classic races. Dorian May Be Sold. POINT-TO-POINT MEETING. COURSE SELECTED AT LEVELS. The Committee appointed to select a course for the South Canterbury Hunt s point-to-point races, to he held on Saturday, have chosen much the same country as proved so suitable last year. The course has been laid out on The Levels Estate, and access will be given from the back drive at the homestead. The “grandstand” will be situated, as last year, on the hill at the rear of the house, and will command a view oi all the jumps. Altogether 20 good hunting fences will have to be negotiated, and none of these is more than a quarter of a mile from the “stand, m the main steeplechases the course na.> to be covered four times, and several jumps will be directly in front of the onlookers. In fact, the races will he run over ground covered last winter, but variations have been made necessary owing to some paddocks being under crop. The hunters’ trials will be contested in close proximity to the “stand.”
