ALLEGATIONS OF CRUELTY. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 5. The House of Lords, by 42 to 40 votes, rejected Lord Danesforth’s Performing Animals Amendment Bill, prohibiting the training of chimpanzees and other anthropoid apes, lions, tigers, panthers and bears. Lord Danesforth argued that training was impossible without cruelty, and serious danger to the trainers.
