DECISION TO RESIGN FROM LEAGUE
EMPEROR APPROVES BOLD ' CHALLENGE United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—copyright (Received March 27, 8.30 p.m.) TOKYO, March 22. A Plenary Privy Council this morniing, in the presence of the Emperor, unanimously approved of resignation from the League of Nations. The decision will be cabled to Sir Eric Drummond (Secretary to the League), this afternoon. Baron Saito will then make a proclamation, the Emperor issuing the decree to the nation. ATTITUDE OF U.S.A. REPRESENTATIVE’S GRAVE SUGGESTION. United press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 27, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 26. Representative Tinkham charged the Roosevelt Administration that it apparently wishes war in Asia with Japan. He referred to the joint resolution now' pending in Congress, vesting the President with power to prohibit the exportations of arms and war munitions to countries engaged in disputes or conflicts. Mr Tinkham charged that the resolution was aimed at Japan: and indicates- that the present Administration has adopted the whole foreign policy of the last Administration, which was completely dominated by the British Foreign Office.
