THE WEATHER
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind fresh south to south-east; weather, an isolated shower likely, but mainly fair. Outlook for week ending April 3rd: Wind mainly westerly to southerly; weather more or less unsettled, with fair rainfall during the period. Dominion Meteorologist. A moderate westerly depression will pass east of New Zealand to-night. An intense anti-cyclone is centred over Tasmania, and a tropical cyclone is located south of Fiji. Expect southerly winds, shortly becoming general, moderate to strong generally, but rising to gale force in places. Seas rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits; becoming rough generally south of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Weather cloudy to overcast, with rain at times in most districts, but improving later on the West Coast of the South Island. Temperatures becoming cooler.
