Scrimshaw, Dr. Mclnnes v. McCallum, Joynt v. Snow. VITAL STATISTICS. Vital statistics for Temuka for February are supplied by the registrar (Mr A. Leslie) as follows (last year’s figures in parentheses):— Births, 8 (5); deaths, 1 (4); marriage licenses issued 2 (0). RABBITS. The efforts of individual shooters and of farmers to combat the increasing number of rabbits in the Temuka district do not appear to be having the desired result. Farmers and those who travel around the country state that rabbits are more numerous in the Temuka district this year than they have been for some time. One Clandeboye farmer is contemplating an “attack” with the assistance of about twenty dogs, in the near future. GENERAL NEWS. St. Joseph’s School held their annual picnic at Caroline Bay, Timaru yesterday, in dull though fine weather. The special train that left Temuka carried 305 picnickers. PERSONAL. Mr Mouat, of Waikari, North Canterbury, has been appointed relieving teacher to the staff of the Temuka District High School in succession to Mr C. W. Kibblewhite, who has been transferred to Blackball. Mr A. Clark, Maheno, is visiting Temuka. Mr W. M. De Lacey, F.8.0.A. (Honours), (London), F. 1.0. (England), Consulting Optician, Timaru, will be visiting Temuka on Saturday, March 4th, when he may be consulted on all defects of eyesight at the Empire Hotel. John R. Procter’s representative will be re-visiting Temuka on Saturday, Ist April, and may be consulted at the Crown Hotel on that date on all defects of eyesight
