WEDDING
HUNTER-WESTON—TAYLOR. The marriage was celebrated yesterday afternoon at St. Mary’s Church, of Marie, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs W. J. Taylor, Selwyn Street, and Reginald Purcell, younger son of Mrs Hunter-Weston, “Highthorne,” and the late Mr R. H. Hunter-Weston. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon H. W. Monaghan, and Mr A. W. Vine was the organist. Friends of the bride had decorated the church with masses of hydrangeas, sweet peas and roses. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a graceful frock of deep cream satin, cut on flowing lines. The bodice made with a softly folded neckline, was finished with a long scarf caught at the shoulder with georgette flowers, and then draped round the neck. The skirt, diagonally cut, fell softly in widening flares to the ground. Her beautiful veil of silk net, which was lent by the bridegroom's mother, was gathered at each side of the head and finished with clusters of orange blosson buds. She wore cream ! satin slippers and carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. The bridesmaids, Miss Helen Taylor (sister of the bride), and Miss Peggy Hunter-Weston (sister of the bridegroom) wore frocks of beige lace, the long lines of the skirts accentuated by panels from the waist, of tucked georgette. Their short coatees of lace had collars of georgette and long tight sleeves with tiny godettes of georgette let in from elbow to wrist. They wore sailor hats of coarse black straw, and carried bouquets of pink sweet peas. Mr Bernard Thomas was best man, and Mr lan Mackenzie acted as groomsman.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home in Selwyn Street, the rooms of which were decorated with roses and hydrangeas. On the bridal table were pink sweet peas. Mr and Mrs Taylor received thenguests in the hall, the latter wearing a frock of black French lace and crepe de chene made in direetoire fashion, with coat of crepe de chene finished at the neck with a scarf relieved with beige and a black ballibrunth straw hat. Her bouquet was shaded carnations. Mrs Huntwe- Weston (mother of the bridegroom) wore a distinctive frock of crepe de chene patterned in black and white, a black feather boa | and a becoming black hat. She carried a bouquet of red sweet peas. When the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon the bride was wearing a gored frock of brown floral crepe de chene patterned in shades of lime, green and rust. The bodice was made with insets of lime georgette at the yoke, and puff sleeves finished with tight-fitting cuffs. The short coatee was of the same material made with a I tie collar. With this was worn a coat 'of brown woollen romaine with deep collar of beige fur and a beige baliibrunth straw hat with a brown ribbon band.
