JARDINE AS DIPLOMAT
GOT OUT OF MELBOURNE STATEMENT When the English cricketers were welcomed in Sydney on their arrival Mr. D. R. Jardine drew rmiles all round when in reply to the'health of his team, he remarked that he had in Melbourne referred to Melbourne being the bull’s eye of Australian cricket. He said that the bull's eye belonged to a moving target, and that it had now moved to Sydney. The English captain voiced very nice sentiments in a very nice way. He was sure that his team and Australia would have keen and great games.
