STANDARD MOTOR CO. Standard Motor Co.. Ltd., of England. reports a net profit of £160.698 for the year ended August 31st, compared with £70.300 for the previous year. A dividend of 15 per cent, has been declared. requiring £33.750. and £IOO,OOO is placed to general reserve; £40.000 is required for taxation. In the year, the company has replaced an overdraft of £59,056 with a credit at bankers of £200.950. and there is a surplus of current assets of about £590.000. Cabled advice has been received by the local attorney of the New Zealand and River Plate Land Moitgage Company, Ltd., that the net profit for the year, ended October 31, 1932, was £102,625, including £43,983 brought into the accounts. At the annual meeting, to be held in London on January 17. the directors will recommend that a final dividend of 31 per cent be declared, making a total of 7 per cent for the year (less income tax at 5/- in the £8) absorbing £49,000, and that £SOOO should be carried to the reserve, leaving &48,625 to be carried forward.
