TIMARU, WEDNESDAY, DEC. 21. (Before Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M.) Civil Cases. Judgment for plaintiffs, by default, was entered in the following undefended civil cases: Commissioner of Taxes V. Michael John Driscoll, £5/12/10, costs 17/-; Commissioner of Taxes v. William Tasman Smith, £ll7/0/6, costs £2/12/-; Eugene Tangney v. Louis Brosnahan, £2, costs 8/-. Traffic Breaches. Thomas Harvey, for riding a motor cycle at a speed dangerous to the public, was convicted and fined £l, and costs 3/-. For parking a car in Stafford Street, otherwise than parallel to the kerb. Robert George Allan was convicted and fined 5/-, and costs 11/-. Michael Curtis was convicted and ordered to pay costs amounting to 12/for riding a motor cycle in King Street without a rear light. For a similar offence Douglas Moore was convicted and fined 5/- and costs 10/-. Albert McConnachie, for driving a motor lorry without lights, was convicted and fined 15/-, and costs 10/-. At the conclusion of the session, Mr M. Raymond, on behalf of the Bar, extended to the Magistrate the compliments of the season, His Worship reciprocating.
