SMALLPOX OUTBREAK AT COLOMBO. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright COLOMBO, December 20. There have been 36 cases of smallpox to date. The situation is under perfect control. The port surgeon expresses the opinion that it is absolutely safe for tourists to laiid if vaccinated. All ships’ workers and agents have been vaccinated. No person is allowed on board unless vaccinated. Ships entering port are warned by the authorities and passengers are advised that it is unsafe to land unless vaccinated, but there are no restrictions regarding the landing of passengers. There was a lull during the weekend, only one case being reported.
