GILLETTE’S IDE SUPER-BLADE greatest advance for 30 years i!!!!! IB THE PROBLEM in the old blade. Heretofore the hardness of the steel in the 3-hole blade has been necessarily more or less uniform throughout the blade. Particular care was required to prevent the steel in the centre of the blade from being too brittle, otherwise the blade would crack along the line A-B. The result was that the steel at the edge C-D was only just 50 hard as it was possible to have it in the centre of the blade, i.e., the edges of the blade were necessarily sacrificed to the centre. HILLETTE Blue Super-Blades mean keener edges, ' * harder edges, smoother edges than were ever before thought possible. One of the reasons for this great advance in blade tpiality is due to the fact that steel of a finer temper can now be employed at the cutting edges. This new tempering process is made possible by the slot in the blade which enables the Gillette engineers to make the edges exceptionally hard whilst the centre of a softer temper flexes easily and does not crack in the holder. Furthermore a uew edging plant with all the latest engineering developments has been installed so that Gillette Blue Super-Blades now on sale give you the cleanest, smoothest shave you have ever had in your life. You can easily distinguish these new Gillette Blades in the shop by the new Blue Packing. Try a packet to-day! Blue slotted blades fit all Gillette razors, both old and new style. 2J6 per packet GiMe-tte THE SOLUTION—in the blue blade. The slot in the Gillett* Blue Blade makes it possible to have soft steel in the end sections of the blade G-H (permitting easy flexing for shaving adjustment) and yet have hard steel at the edge E-F. This is because with the slotted blade the annealing heat which is applied to the section G-H is prevented from affecting the steel at the edge E-F. You are assured of having blades made by this new process, if you buy only G illette Blue SuperBlades. For best results use Gillette Shaving Cream.
