’PLANE DAMAGED
occupants Uninjured. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, December 21. An Avro-Avian biplane, privately owned, was damaged in a lorced landing near the Mangere aerodrome this morning. The pilot, D. McNicol, of Dannevirke, had as a passenger, Miss I. Gunn, of Taumaruhui. The ’plane took off at 10 o’clock, but the engine stopped while still at a low altitude. The pilot decided to land in a nearby field. The landing wheel came off, and the ’plane plunged the nose into the ground. The damage is not extensive, and both occupants were uninjured.
