T. W. Armour, of Knox Church, Christchurch, will conduct a service in braid Scots. The whole service will be conducted in the Scottish ‘doric.’ the language of Robert Bums, and will, doubtless, carry many a Scottish immigrant back to his Schooldays. In accordance with the simpler forms of the Scottish church in the earlier day, the praise will be confined to the metrical psalms, and the ‘kist o’ whustles’ will not be used, a “precentor” leading the singing. Mr Armour conducted the first service of this kind ever held in New Zealand at Knox Chufich, Christchurch, a little over a year ago, and the interest evoked has led to similar services being conducted at various centres in the North and South Islands, where they have proved rallying points of Scottish national and religious sentiment. thodist Church to-rhorrow. morning and evening themes respectively being; “The Divine Helper” arid “God's Fel-low-workers”’ Anthems Will be rendered by the choir.
