INJURED BOY DIES. By Telegraph—Press Association NAPIER, November 18. Gavin Stuart, the boy who was injured by a hammer at a sports meeting last night, died this morning.

CHILD DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association ROTORUA. November 18. An 18-months old child, Selwyn Heywood, son of Mr and Mrs S. R. Heywood. was drowned on Thursday afternoon at Ngakuru. The child was apparently playing beside a creek near his parents’ home and endeavoured to cross a plank bridge spanning the water. The mother missed the child, and following a search it was found lying in two feet of water near the bridge. The child had then been in the water for some time. Life was extinct.
