.SSAULT ON CHILDREN. By Teleeraph—press Association. WELLINGTON. November 1. In the Supreme Court to-day. a jury found Walter Anderson Clifton (49), engineer, guilty of indecent assault on two little girls at Miramaru on June 3rd. with a recommendation to leniency. The Chief Justice asked the foreman of the jury to state the grounds for the recommendation, and a written statement was handed up.
His Honour ordered a remand till Friday.
