ACCIDENT. On Sunday afternoon a collision occu d in King Street between a :ruck driven by Mr H. Hewson, md a car driven by a man named -fym.rr. a travelling showman from Jhristchurch. Neither vehicle U’as iamaged to any extent, and the drivers vere unhurt. CLANDEBOYE. On Friday evening the Ciandeboye Sunday School children held their linual social. Despite the inclement weather the children with their arents and friends, were present in irge numbers. Mr R. Taylor preided. The programme consisted of hymns y the Sunday School children, recitaions by Margaret Airay, Patricia 'hiskie and George Phiskie. a short lay given by Merle Saunders, Mary Irake and Alan Donehue; a hymn by be Sunday School teachers, and solos y Miss M. Shaw and' Mr Dellow. lames were enjoyed by old and young, nd a delicious supper was provided y the parents. A very jolly evening was brought to close by the pronouncing of the enediction. THE YELLOW TICKET." Raoul Walsh's Fox drama, “The Yellow Ticket" opens its local engagement to-day at Temuka. It tells the vivid story of a young and courageous girl who had to fight against the cruel intrigue and injustices of Czarist Russia's Secret Police for the romance and happiness that was rightfully hers. “The Yellow Ticket" is said to afford Miss Landi an opportunity to display her great emotional and acting ability. Barrymore, too, has been widely acclaimed for his work in the role of the relentless police head, as has Olivier, who plays the romantic male lead. The remainder of the cast include such luminaries as Walter Byror,. Rita La Roy. Sarah Padden, Mischa Auer, Arnold Korff, and Boris Karloff. Mr E. Cholerton. representing John R. Procter.
