SUNDAY’S SERVICES. The subject of the address at the I morning service in Chalmers Church will be “The Glory of Morning.” At the evening service the subject will be, ] “Difficulties reveal what you have in ; you.” The evening anthem will be, “The Radiant Morn.” The services on Sunday in St. Mary’s Parish will be as follows:—Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Mary’s at 8 a.m„ and 11 a.m. (choral), at St. John’s at 8 a.m., and at All Saints at 9.30. Matins at St. John's at 11 a.m. Evensong at St. Mary's, All Saint’s, St. Peter’s, and St. Michael’s at 6.30. Young People’s Day will be observed at Trinity Presbyterian Church to-mor- j row, the preacher being the Rev. A. J. j H. Dow. In the morning the girls’ and boys’ junior choirs will sing “O How Amiable are Thy Dwellings” and “Jerusalem.” In the evening the senior choir will sing “Sun of My Soul.” An interesting series of meetings have been arranged at the Salvation Army. Adjutant Chas. A. Thomas will direct. The evening service at 7 p.m. will be a memorial service of Sister Miss Hill. (Visitors welcome.) There will be 3 p.m. services at Pareora and j Gleniti. Sunday School Anniversary services j will be held in the Baptist Church, j Wilson Street, on Sunday, at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6.30 p.m. A special feature j will be the massed singing by the j scholars. The preacher will be the Rev. j J. Russell Grave, of Auckland. The i anniversary concert will be held on Tuesday, at 7.30. At the evening' service in the Con- j gregational Church, North Street, the Rev. J. Milburn Stewart, will deal with the subject of “Hell.” The closing session of the Y.P.O. -will be held at 3 p.m. The evening subject will be “A Homeless Saviour.” Special music will be rendered by the choir. The morning service at Banks Street Methodist Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. J. D. Grocott, travelling secretary of the Young Men's
B C Union. The evening preacher will be the Rev. Harold T. Peat. Anthems will be rendered by the choir. The services at Woodlands Street will be conducted by the Revs. T. H. Carr and J. D Grocott respectively. Visitors are cordially invited to all services.
Special gas-masks have been sent j from London to Bangalore, for use in i a burning mine there. They travelled by relays of aeroplanes and - I boats.
