LICENSE GRANTED

TIMARU—CHRISTCHURCH RUN. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, October 14. That the refusal of a license for an Aard Service between Christchurch and Timaru w'ould break that organisation’s chain of services running throughout New Zealand, was a statement made in support of an application lor a license for Hunter’s D.O.T. Motors, before the Central Transport Authority to-day.

The application for a license between Christchurch and Timaru was opposed by the White Star Tourist Services, and by the Railway Department. Statements were made that there was very keen competition among service car organisations, with very few passengers offering. There was scarcely a service in New Zealand that was paying its way at present. The application was granted after lengthy evidence had been heard.
