DEMAND FOR MONETARY REFORM. United Press Association Bv Electric Telegraph—Copyright OTTAWA, October 13. The Progressives to-day moved a sub-amendment to the Address-in-Reply, stressing the need of financial reform. Tentative arrangements to-day are for a vote on the amendments and the Address on Monday afternoon. The Imperial Conference agreements are to be taken up immediately following the division. A sub-amendment urges that Dominion control of the currency and credit should be so exercised as to provide and maintain sufficient purchasing power to raise the price of agricultural products and other primary commodities, to an equitable level in relation to the cost of production, and the settlement of outstanding liabilities. public and private, and increase consumption, thereby stimulating industry and providing employment, and that the issue of this currency and credit should be based upon the natural wealth and productive capacity of the country, not, as at present, upon one single commodity—gold.
