TRIBUTE TO REPORTER

FAREWELL IN FEDERAL SENATE. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright CANBERRA, September 29. There was an unprecedented scene in the Senate, when, for the first time in history, the august Chamber was declared a public place. The occasion marked the retirement of Mr W. M. Admans, Hansard reporter since the inception of Federation. He completed the last turn, and was the subject of eulogistic references from members. The president, Mr Lynch, declared the Chamber a public place to enable Mr Admans to reply.
