An anti-cyclone covers Eastern Australia and is advancing towards New Zealand, but pressure remains rather low to the north, and the easterly type of weather Is likely to continue. Expect winds light to moderate and variable, with south-east to north-east prevailing. Seas smooth to moderate. Weather still cloudy to overcast over the North Island, with rain In eastern districts between Cook Strait and East Cape, and at scattered places elsewhere, but improving gradually; fair to fine in the South Island, but cloudy on the East Coast. Temperatures sioderate.
