James Dunn and Sally

Eilers are greater than they were in “Bad Girl,” and Mae Marsh gives a great mother performance. Particiilarly impressive and realistic are the early scenes of the picture, the sequence that depicts the childhood of the principal characters, and which is enacted by a group of Hollywood’s most capable juvenile players. Dunn and Miss Eilers are again cast as sweethearts, and their portrayals of somewhat difficult roles are nothing short of superb. Henry King, the director, has added another masterpiece to a list that already includes his gold medal winning pictures, “Tol’able David,” “Stella Dallas" and “Merely Mary Ann.” Others whose contributions deserve praise include James Kirkwood, Claire Maynard, Olin Howland, Eula Guy, Edward Crandall, Joan Peers and William Pawley, Seats can be reserved free at McMillan’s.
