THEFT FROM NATIVE DEPARTMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, August 27. Waratana Renata Ngahana, an officer of the Native Department, was charged to-day with the theft, between October 12, 1926, and July 7, 1932, of £602/0/5, the property of the Government. He was remanded thill Wednesday. It was stated that accused had given the police every assistance, but there were still some further investigations to be made. Bail was allowed, in £650.
