ARSON CHARGES

TWO MEN PLEAD GUILTY. By Telegraph — P-.-os* Association DUNEDIN. July 6. As a result of police inquiries since a fire took place in Mackenzie’s store in St. Kilda early on Monday morning, detectives, on Tuesday night, arrested W. A. Mackenzie and a man named Stewart, an employee, and charged them with setting fire to the building. The two men were brought before the City Police Court to-day. when it was intimated that they would plead guilty. A third man, now in Dunedin Hospital suffering from severe burns, will be called on to face a similar charge when he recovers. The two accused were remanded for a week, bail being refused.
