WEDDING.

SCOTT—MARTIN. On March 23rd, at “Harakeke.” Otaio, the residence of the bride’s mother, a quiet wedding was solemnised by the Rev. D. N. Pryor, of St. Andrews, the contracting parties being Edith Mary, fourth daughter of the late Andrew Martin and Stanous Henry, only son of Mr and Mrs W. Scott, of Timaru. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brother, Mr T. N. Martin, looked charming in a simple cream frock made very long with a straight panel back and front coming to a point at the hem. The bodice which was close-fitting had a V-shaped design of pin-tucks running up from the hip yoke which was finished with a narrow belt and a tiny cluster of orangeblossom. The neck ancl. sleeves were inset with lace finished with tiny bows. With this was worn the customary veil and orange blossom, while a shower bouquet of cream lilies, gladioli, dahlias and maidenhair fern completed a tasteful toilet. The bride was attended as bridesmaid by her sister Maisie, who wore a frock of a pretty shade of pink broderie anglaise, which was cut with a close-fitting bodice and hip yolk, the skirt being almost ground length. With this were worn pink shoes and a capelin felt hat in the same shade, trimmed with multi-coloured flowers and a flat velvet bow. Her bouquet consisted of roses, gladioli and sweet peas to tone. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Stan Gray, of Pleasant Point.

After the wedding breakfast when the usual toasts had been honoured, the happy couple left by car for the south amidst showers of confetti and good wishes. The bride wore a smart brown costume, brown felt hat with an orange feather and brown shoes and stockings to match.

Mr and Mrs S. H. Scott in future will reside in Timaru.
