STREET ACCIDENT.

DEATH IN HOSPITAL FOLLOWS. By Telegraph--Press Association AUCKLAND, March 23. As a result of injuries received when he was knocked down by a motorcycle in Queen Street last night, F. Wheelhouse (21), died in hospital this morn’rtg. Wheelhcuse was a married man living in Newmarket, and was a clerk employed by L. D. Nathan Ltd. He was knocked down by a cycle near Fort Street as he was about to cross the street. Immediately after the accident he was taken to a pharmacy near the scene and treated for shock. He rested for a while, and then said he thought he was well enough to go home. He did so, and said he would follow the advice given and go straight to bed. At about 7 o’clock, however, Dr Vivian was called, and he ordered the injured man to the hospital. He was admitted at 1.50 a.m. in a semiconscious condition.
