CANTERBURY REPERTORY THEATRE SOCIETY. On Monday next, the Canterbury ReDei'tory Society is to P res fh; Oscar Wilde’s well-known comedy The importance of Being Earnest” at the Theatre Royal. This play had a splendid reception in Christchurch, and is one of h.he most successful of the Society’s productions. The play was first produced over 30 years ago, and since that date has run for thousands of performances by both professional and amateur companies. It .s as popular to-day as ever, being a great favourite with repertory and little theatre” society audiences, who, these days get little opportunity of seeing much of the best productions of 20 to 30 years ago.
