FIRES.
STABLES IN DANGER. By Telegraph.—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, January 27. J. Bryce’s trotting stables at Hornby, with several well-known horses, were seriously endangered by a fire, which broke out in standing crops last evening, but the flames were subdued after a hard fight by hundreds of workers. The farm buildings were slightly damaged.
