A curious accident happened on the Wanganui croquet lawns last week, when Mrs. Morris, a New Plymouth delegate to New Zealand Croquet Council, was bitten by an insect while sitting in a brush shelter. Her face was so swollen that she sought medical aid and is now ill, and being attended by her daughter, Mrs. Kemp, at Hawera. A similar experience befel Mrs. L. Finch, of Auckland, who was bitten on the arm. The arm was considerably swollen.
