RECENT INCREASES REVEALED. United Press Association— By Electr ■ Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, January 25. The American Government’s indebtedness, State, country and city, is now estimated at between thirty-five and forty billion dollars, being four times the country’s total war debt, and representing a per capita indebtedness of slightly over 300 dollars. The Federal public debt to-day exceeds eighteen billion dollars, an increase of nearly 2,500,000,000 dollars in the last eighteen months.
