His Grace Archbishop Julius celebrated his 84th Birthday yesterday. Mr H. G. Guthrie, of Dunedin, is on a visit to Timaru.

Colonel Pow. Dominion secretary of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, is at present visiting Timaru. Mi* Gordon Bryan, examiner of the Associated Board of Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music, London, will arrive in Timaru on December 2nd for the purpose of conducting examinations under the auspices of the Board. Mr R. A. J. McKay, manager of the Timaru branch of Messrs G. McClatchie and Co., has been appointed manager for Messrs John Mill and Co., at Wellington, and will leave Timaru before the end of the present month.
