MILITARY ’PLANE CRASHES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright ROTTERDAM, Auguct 4. A military plane crashed and the pilot and a Sergeant were killed. ! END OF DUTCH LINER. A Dutch air liner crashed into a signal pole and was destroyed; seriously injuring a boy playing in the field, and five women passengers. MACHINE ON FIRE. OBSERVER KILLED. United Press Association —By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright PRAGUE, August 4. Flying at 6000 feet, a heavy bombing plane caught fire. The pilot parachuted to safety. The observer, over excited, opened the parachute too early, and was killed. The machine fell on the roof of a distillery, which, with the adjoining shop, caught fire. DEATH OF MONTI. VALUABLE MACHINE LOST. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright ROME, August 4. j It is now revealed that Monti was flying one of the two new Fiat machines, capable of 400 miles per hour, specially constructed for the Schneider Cup. Salvage efforts have proved fruitless. The machine is lying at a depth of 300 feet. (A message received on Saturday said:—Flight-Captain Monti, who participated in the Schneider Cup in 1929, and recently engaged in highspeed tests, was killed when his flying seaplane fell in Lake Garda)..
