RESEARCH WORKERS IN CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N„ August 5. No previous meeting of its kind has been so full of potentialities for grassland advancement as a conference held at Palmerston North to-day by representatives of interests concerned in all aspects of grass farming. This important gathering will not conclude its deliberations until Friday. Mr A. H. Cockayne. Assistant Director-General of Agriculture, is presiding. Mr Cockayne gave an address giving developments that led up to the meeting, and touched upon the objectives of the conference. Papers were contributed by Mr A. W. Hudson, who reviewed the fertiliser position, with special reference to the problems attaching to it; Mr E. Bruce Levy, who gave a review of present and future aspects of the “strain” position, and Mr F. L. C. Scrivener, who dealt with the line of research at Massey Agricultural College.
